My life of a maker came to be by many paths and influences. As a child we lived in the Blue Ridge Mountains surrounded by an active community of fiber artists. As a teen, we lived overseas when there was still an active tradition of local handcrafts. When I look back, it was my exposure at an early age to hand made goods and their makers that planted the seeds of what I am becoming today.
I love the multiple personalities that metal can take on through the process of making and in its intended end state. Geometric, Organic, Rustic, Refined, Light, Heavy. The same can be said for the techniques. I love to combine newer technologies alongside traditional. There is so much room to successfully experiment, design and create something meaningful to so many.
My inspiration comes from family, friends, peace of mind, getting outside, function and irony.
